As I recall, I was on secondary school at that time. My father worked for the Empire as a mechanic although there were astromechs people send their pods to the workshop. My mother, in the other hand, was house wife, as many other women in that time. The galaxy has changed a lot  since then.Both were dedicated to their family. Sadly their children walked apart their values.
