Do you ever see wild animals?

As any other country in the world, wild fauna has been displaced and it’s rare to see that animals in urban zones.

Even though México City is a great megalópolis there are rural zones in the surrounfings. Xochimilco is a touristic place where people navigate through canals made by old native people, due to this, there are many green areas (forest and marsh) near to urban zones.

Cacocomixtles and Tlacuaches are two species who have survived against the voracious urban spot. Cacomixtles are usually seen prowling trash cans and courtyards. They are shy and run aways as soon as people approach them. Mainly they are hunted by cats and dogs but humans are their principal enemy.

If you want to find them you need to visit Nativitas forest, Santiago, Xochitepec, Caltongo, San Gregorio and all mountain regions.
